Life is like a walk down a road. Sometimes we step into holes while on this walk. These "holes" can be things beyond our control or of our own making (bad business decisions, bad relationships, bad habits).
In first American philosophy there are two roads we can walk in Life, the Red Road or the Black Road.
The Red Road is the road of balance, of cooperation, peace and prosperity. This means being "user friendly" toward others and to all Creation.
The Black Road is the road of turmoil, confusion, isolation and unhappiness. The Black Road is the road of imbalance. We choose the road we walk.
Ben Franklin was a very smart man. A writer, a publisher, an inventor, a politician, a statesman, a scientist and a good businessman. When he had a decision to make he'd take a sheet of paper and draw a line down the center, from top to bottom. On the left side of the paper he'd write a "+" and on the left side a "-". He'd then list under the right side all of the reasons for doing something and on the left side all the reasons for not doing something.
MAP YOUR ROAD Take a sheet of paper, right now...don't put it off. Draw a line down the center from top to bottom. On the left side write "Red Road" and on the right side write "Black Road". Next list under the Red Road, those people, things, and behavior in your life that are good. Under the Black Road list those things and behavior that in your life that are bad.
Keep your "Red Road/Black Road" list with you, and if you find yourself lost on your Life Walk pull out your map, look up and read the signs.
In our busy world we juggle so much that we sometimes become confused and lose our way. The Creator gave us free will; we get to choose the road we walk in life.
